Tyson Foods CFO John Tyson (yep, that Tyson) was arrested in Arkansas on Sunday after he allegedly got drunk and decided to take a nap in a stranger’s bed, probably naked. A police report says a the woman whose bed he passed out in found him snoozing at 2 in the morning, reeking of alcohol and generally out of it.
The KNWA/KFTA report detailing his arrest for public intoxication and trespassing says that at approximately 2:05 a.m. Sunday a woman arrived home to find 32-year-old Tyson asleep in her bed with his clothes piled in front of the bed. When cops arrived, they tried to rouse him but he was having trouble holding a conversation and his movements “appeared sluggish and uncoordinated.” After briefly sitting up, Tyson laid back down and tried to go to sleep, says the local news report. I think we’ve all been there.
He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center and released that evening. So, drunk tank then.
He’s only been CFO at Tyson Foods since October 2, predictably many are asking if he’s really cut out for the gig after this, uh, incident. Prior to joining Tyson Foods in 2019 he worked in investment banking, private equity, and venture capital. His base salary is $650,000 which is quite a bit of beer money let’s be honest.
A representative for Tyson Foods said in a statement to CNBC that the company is aware of the incident but will not be commenting further, calling it a “personal matter.”
Here’s the clip from CNBC:
Just kidding, here’s the actual clip:

“He is the son of Tyson board chairman John H. Tyson.”
In that situation, he must have felt like a common working man. For a day……..
